SARAJEVO, July 4 (Hina) - The situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina is
calmer than it was in recent weeks. UNPROFOR Spokesman in Sarajevo
Eric Chaperon said that Serb forces fired 13 mortar rounds at the
Konjic area (northern Herzegovina) on Sunday. Two rounds fell only
500 m from a camp where Malaysian UNPROFOR members have been
accommodated.
The exchange of shelling resumed this morning in the area west
of Gracanica (north-eastern Bosnia) with a total of 120 detonations
reported. 26 shells hit the Tuzla area, 17 shells landed near
Gradacac and 16 near Doboj. In the Gorazde area, 28 incidents were
registered. 'Blue helmets' reported on Sunday three attacks
launched on their members in the Visoko region, Central Bosnia.
U.S. special co-ordinator for Sarajevo William Eagleton
addressed today's press conference in the UNPROFOR base in
Sarajevo. He said that positive results had been achieved at the
conference on donations for the reconstruction of Sarajevo held in
New York on 29 June.
Eagleton told journalists that a new meeting of main donators
who finance Sarajevo's reconstruction would be held in Vienna in
September.
