ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - Today's daily Vjesnik carries a report on
peace talks in Geneva headlined "Serbs withdrew, negotiations
begin". Akashi proposed a four-month ceasefire which would be
implemented by about 5,000 U.N. peacekeepers deployed along front
lines, added Vjesnik.
The daily brings a report on a three-day visit of a Rumanian
delegation, led by Prime Minister Nicolae Vacaroiu, to Croatia
saying that a co-operation between the countries should be further
developed.
If Croatian banks trust in a new currency they should increase
interest rates in kunas (HRK), writes Ivo Jakovljevic.
Another Zagreb daily Vecernji List also writes about the
Geneva peace talks on Bosnia-Herzegovina.
A commentary deals with genocide over Moslems and Croats in
Bosnia-Herzegovina. It stresses that the U.N. in Bosnia-Herzegovina
admitted that genocide has been carried out in Bosnia only two
years after the first massacre was committed.
Vecernji List brings an interview with Igor Primorac, the
professor of philosophy at the Jerusalem University. "The problem
does not lie in relations between Croatia and Israel, but in
relations between Israel and Serbia. The things Croatia has done in
the recent time are very impressive, but it should be careful and
not repeat certain mistakes from the past," said Primorac among
other things.
