SLOVENIA CRIES OUT FOR RIGHT TO 65-YARD TRACT OF LAND

LJUBLJANA, Mar 1 (Hina) - Tomaz Kunstelj, secretary-general at the Slovene Foreign Ministry, on Tuesday delivered a protest note to Croatian ambassador to Slovenia Miljenko Zagar, disputing the continuation of construction works at the Dragonja border crossing in Istria. The note said Slovenia found unacceptable that Croatia should construct border crossing facilities at the spot in question, which was actually situated within the cadastral municipality of Secovlje, at 60 m (65 yards) from its border. The note suggested to the Croatian side to erect border crossing buildings on a piece of land that was "incontestably Croatian." The note invoked last year's promises of the Croatian side that the construction would be stopped. 011946 MET mar 94
