ZAGREB, May 12 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK leads with its coverage of
the government session under the headline "Reconstruction Money
From Budget."
A report from the Parliament session is published under the
headline "Labour Relations Act A Priority."
Vjesnik carries an article on a visit by US ambassador Peter
Galbraith to Western Slavonia.
The other Zagreb-based daily, VECERNJI LIST, covers the
government session under the headline "Return to Western Slavonia
by Autumn."
An article on the Parliament session says in part: "The
opposition parties insist that the Government and trade unions
reach consensus on the Labour Relations Bill because they believe
that certain provisions limit workers' rights and that 50,000
workers will be laid off."
Vecernji List includes an interview with special presidential
envoy Miomir Zuzul ahead of a meeting in Paris between UN secretary
general Boutros Boutros-Ghali and military envoys to former
Yugoslavia and UN military commanders, and a meeting in Frankfurt
of the Contact Group for Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"Croatia's position has been strengthened significantly,"
Zuzul says, adding: "There are, in fact, no more serious pressures
and nobody thinks that the situation in Western Slavonia could be
restored to the situation before the (Croatian) action."
