ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Defence Ministry issued a
statement in connection with today's Serb missile attack on Zagreb.
"According to the first unofficial reports, six projectiles
hit the greater Zagreb area, again targeting civilian facilities.
The number of casualties and fatalities has not been officially
ascertained. The city was put on general alert at 12:10 hours," the
statement said.
"This latest terrorist attack on Zagreb shows that Serb
extremists in Croatia's temporarily occupied areas are in total
disarray and confusion. It is obvious there is no coordination
whatsoever between their political leadership and the so-called
army," the statement said, emphasising that there was a rift in the
Serb military.
"The most extreme examples are Milan Celeketic (commander of
Knin Serb paramilitary formations) and a certain Loncar, who are
known to have ordered the two missile attacks on the Croatian
capital of Zagreb and other Croatian towns and villages," the
statement said, stressing that Celeketic, Loncar and their superior
Milan Martic were among the worst war criminals in recent European
history.
