GOSPIC, May 10 (Hina) - Croatian rebel Serbs wounded a Czech
peacekeeper, while opening fire at UNCRO troops yesterday afternoon
in Otocac area, 100 km south-west of Zagreb, a Croatian army source
in Gospic said.
Rebel Serbs were opening small-arms fire at the "Konjska
glava" UN-checkpoint near Otocac. The peacekeeper was shot through
the hand.
UNCRO troops asked help from local Croatian army command, but
Serbs had already taken the wounded soldier to Knin hospital.
The Croatian army recalled that UNCRO troops have been denied
access to "Konjska glava" checkpoint since Serbs had blocked the
road to it a week ago.
