ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - The Croatian and the Serb sides today
reached an oral agreement on a full cease-fire in Croatia as of
16:00 hours Wednesday, UN special envoy Yasushi Akashi told an
emergency press conference at UN headquarters this afternoon.
"Both sides promised to abide by the agreement, which will be
signed later," Akashi said.
He expressed the hope that full freedom of movement in western
Slavonia would be possible from 09:00 Thursday, in line with the
Agreement.
The Serb side described their attacks on Zagreb and other
Croatian towns as "acts of retaliation against the agression of the
Croatian side," Akashi said.
