GOSPIC, Feb 13 (Hina) - Croatian Army soldiers prevented a rebel
Serb commando group at about 07:00 p.m. last night from raiding
into an area under the government control near Ribnik, some 150 km
south of Zagreb, Croatian Army officials in Gospic said last night
in a statement.
During the action of preventing the commandos' attack on the
Croatian check-point one Croatian soldier was wounded and admitted
to the Gospic hospital. He was out of critical condition.
Local Croatian Army headquarters in Gospic protested with
local UNPROFOR because the incident had occurred near UN peace
keepers.
The Serb commandos probably wanted to provoke by arms the UN
troops at the government controlled area, the statement said.
