ZAGREB, Feb 9 (Hina) - People in Bihac are starving to death,
hospitals are running out of bread, and even soup-kitchens are
down to the last crumbs, Bihac authorities warned.
They called on the international community - the United
Nations, its member-countries and humanitarian agencies - to stop
the humanitarian disaster in Bihac.
Their appeal was carried today by the Bosnian Embassy in
Zagreb.
The Bihac authorities also called on senior UNPROFOR
officials, UN Special Envoy Yasushi Akashi, and relief agencies'
workers to immediately visit Bihac to obtain a first hand account
of the deteriorating situation on the ground.
