ZAGREB, Feb 9 (Hina) - An UNHCR relief convoy set out for Cazin
this morning, the UNHCR spokeswoman in Zagreb, Alemka Lisinski,
told reporters.
The convoy is carrying 72 tonnes of food and medicines in ten
trucks, two of them bound for Velika Kladusa and the rest for the
southern part of the Bihac enclave.
"We have obtained clearances for the convoy's passage from
local Serbs and from authorities loyal to Freaket Abdic," Lisinski
said, adding that the convoy was expected in Cazin this afternoon.
UNHCR representatives today travelled to Knin to arrange for
convoys going to southern Bihac pocket to use an alternative route
across the territory controlled by Knin Serbs.
The idea is to avoid Abdic's troops positioned on the Velika
Kladusa road, who are hampering regular aid deliveries by demanding
half of all cargo crossing through territory under their control.
