ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - A convoy carrying 117 people evacuated from
Gorazde, arrived in Sarajevo sometime after midnight, UNHCR
headquarters in Zagreb confirmed today.
Some 86 sick people and wounded and 31 escorts traveled in the
convoy before the ill were admitted to the Kosevo Hospital in
Sarajevo.
The Medevac from the UN-declared 'safe haven' of Gorazde (a
Moslem enclave surrounded by Serbs) was to begin early January, but
it only got underway yesterday because of difficulties with
clearances posed by Bosnian Serbs.
Meanwhile 66 Serbs had earlier succeeded in being 'socially
evacuated' from Gorazde under deal with Bosnian Serbs.
