ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - The Zagreb Archbishop, Cardinal Franjo
Kuharic, Saturday met expelled Croats from Knin (UNPA South), now
accommodated in the Sibenik area. The meeting took place in
Zagreb's Church of St. Blaise.
Cardinal Kuharic blessed the gathered displaced people from
Knin and asked them to "preserve dignity and the family union"
during their life in exile.
He advised them to await the return to home and solutions to
their problem keeping faith all the time.
Cardinal Kuharic reiterated that Church did its best that the
displaced people would not become desperate waiting for their
return. They should hold a hope based on political decisions made
by Croatia's and international authorities.
Cardinal Kuharic was interested in the life of the Knin
displaced people.
Friar Luka Delic told him there were now about 2,700 displaced
persons from the Knin parish and 1,360 from the Kijevo parish.
Friar Delic added that the Serbs in the temporarily occupied
Croatian areas had destroyed the Church and Monastery of St.
Antonio and the Church of St. Ana, and had inflicted damage to the
Church of St. Jacob in Knin.
