SITUATION IN WESTERN BOSNIA CALMER, UNPROFOR SAYS

SARAJEVO, Jan 28 (Hina) - The situation on western-Bosnian fronts was somewhat calmer yesterday, UN military observers told a Sarajevo press conference today. Only a hundred detonations, which is five to eight times less than in the past few days, were reported yesterday on the Velika Kladusa front by UN officials in charge of counting shells. Only five detonations were reported in the Bihac area. Despite occasional exchanges of small-arms fire, the situation in the Sarajevo area was calm and stable, the UN said. Bosnian Government and Serb representatives are to meet for another round of talks on the opening of 'blue routes' tomorrow. The opening of 'blue routes' was announced for Wednesday.
