TRAVNIK, Nov 27 (Hina) - Premier of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Izudin Kapetanovic said on Wednesday that the
Federation should be strengthened now when it had become viable.
Premier Kapetanovic and his deputy Drago Bilandzija on
Wednesday paid a visit to central Bosnia, as part of their tours to
the Federation's Cantons in order to observe the situation in the
wake of the September elections. Kapetanovic told a Hina
corespondent that they had now a task to strengthen the Federation.
He announced that 27 laws would be discussed in December by
both houses of the Federal Parliament, and envisaged that next
January would be a milestone in the Bosnian Federation history when
sweeping changes should begin in the federal economy and banking.
He said it was necessary to annul parallel governments'
structures both of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Herzeg-
Bosnia, describing them as dangerous for the Federation.
Kapetanovic stressed the importance of the role of the federal
cantons, particularly of Central Bosnian Canton, for the
strengthening of the Federation. He explained that the Central
Bosnian Canton was a precondition for the Federation's
strengthening, as it was founded on the parity of Croat-Moslem
authorities. "Therefore we will pay most attention to this Canton
as well as to the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, and offer as much
help as we can," he said.
