EIGHT VOTING POSTS IN SRAJEVO CLOSED TEMPORARILY

SARAJEVO, Sept 14 (Hina) - Eight voting posts in the Sarajevan municipality of Novi Grad had temporarily been closed after a large group of voters, whose names could not be found on voting lists, caused incidents, general manager of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for the holding of elections, Jeff Fischer, said on Saturday. The closure would last for several hours, Fischer said, adding that afterwards voting posts would stay open longer so that all voters could vote during the day. Spokesman for the NATO-led Peace Implementation Force (IFOR) Bratt Boudreau said that the incidents, including the smashing of windows, were caused by some 2,000 people. There was no confirmation so far if someone was hurt or large damages dome. The general situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina was peaceful with no significant incidents by 1 p.m., Boudreau said, adding that traffic along the 19 voter routes was proceeding smoothly.
