U.S. AMBASSADOR PRESENTS MEDAL TO CROATIAN ASSISTANT DEFENCE MINIS

MINIS $ TER ZAGREB, Aug 23 (Hina) - The US Ambassador to Croatia, Peter Galbraith, on Friday presented a US Army Meritorious Service Medal to Croatian Assistant Defence Minister Brigadier Markica Rebic for his work as a liason officer with the US Embassy. Galbraith said at a ceremony that over the last three years Rebic had helped the US Embassy and the United States to understand better the military dynamics of the region during a very critical period. The medal had been awarded by US President Bill Clinton in July. Galbraith said that it was a token of gratitude to Brigadier Rebic personally as well as to the Croatian Army and Defence Minister Gojko Susak. Susak said that the medal was "the crown of everything that has been done in the last four yours in developing good relations between Croatia and the United States."
