ZAGREB, July 3 (Hina) - The International Red Cross Committee and
the Croatian Red Cross started an action to warn of the danger of
remaining mines in Croatia, particularly in the summer when
displaced persons will be returning to their homes in large
numbers, Croatian vice premier Ivica Kostovic said on Wednesday,
after talks with the head of the International Red Cross Committee,
Alex Braunwalder.
The Croatian Red Cross issued a brochure which warns of the
most frequent mine sites, describes the mines' appearance and how
mine fields and just cleaned mine areas are marked. Croatia's
Office for Refugees already started with the distribution of the
brochures, Kostovic said and added that the Red Cross had also made
a TV promo on the theme.
