Zoric informed Knezevic about the care for refugees and
displaced persons.
He said that there were some 160,000 displaced persons in
Croatia, out of which there were 80,000 waiting to return to the
Croatian Danubian area.
Croatian also provides care for 30,000 people who have
returned to liberated areas, as well as for 184,000 refugees some
of which are Croat refugees from Vojvodina and Kosovo (provinces in
Serbia).
Speaking of applications submitted to the Office by Serbs who
would like to return to Croatia, Zoric said that the issue could
not be separated from the overall situation with refugees and
displaced persons and all victims of war, missing and detained
persons.
Zoric informed Knezevic that a group of Serbs which had been
pardoned by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Croatian Statehood
Day had expressed their personal wish to leave Croatia, which they
will be able to do as soon as the International Committee of the
Red Cross (ICRC) completes all formalities regarding their
departure.
Knezevic also informed Zoric about the completion of the list
of refugees.
