SARAJEVO, June 13 (Hina) - The Bosnian Federation's Constituent
Assembly concluded on Thursday that nation-wide elections should be
held in September according to schedule although a majority of
deputies warned that conditions required for holding free and
democratic elections did not exist.
The federal parliament demanded that the international
community make every effort to remove war crimes suspects from the
political scene because they presented a major obstacle to the
conduct of elections.
During a heated debate on the return of refugees, Croat and
Moslem deputies exchanged accusations of obstructing the return.
The two sides decided that municipal authorities should facilitate
the return of refugees.
The expected debate on a Defence Bill failed to take place
although, according to unofficial sources, an agreement on all
outstanding provisions had been reached.
Chairman Mariofil Ljubic announced that the bill would be
discussed at a session called for June 19.
