A special technical commission for establishing exact
borders between the Bosnian entities started with work today. The
commission is to establish the borders between the entities after
an exchange of a smaller portion of land, within the framework of
negotiations between representatives of the Federation and the
Serb entity. Members of the commission are to mark the exact
separation lines in the next three months.
The next step to be taken now was the ratification of an
agreement signed after the Dayton agreement between the Bosnian
entities on the exchange of some 50 square kilometers. The
territorial exchange would 'relocate' some 8,000 people into the
Federation and some 3,000 into Republika Srpska. According to
some estimations, the Serb entity would get some 7,5 new square
km, but nevertheless, the agreement solved some serious
illogicalities, Marriner said. Before they become official, the
agreements will have to be confirmed by the governments of both
entities.
