UNHCR had had to employ foreign busses and bus drivers because
bus companies from the Serb entity had refused to cooperate and
those of the Federation were having trouble with the Serb police,
UNHCR spokesman in Sarajevo Kris Janowski said.
He said that he expected IFOR to take action if anyone
attempted to obstruct the passage of busses.
Janowski announced a bus line between Tuzla (Bosnian
Federation) and Zvornik (Serb entity) to be opened soon.
He also warned of more frequent reports of abuse of the local
Serb populace in Sarajevo suburbs, which had been confirmed by IFOR
and UN sources.
International organizations warned that measures taken by the
Sarajevo police had not prevented constant robberies, intimidation,
attempts of exile and physical abuse so far.
UNHCR and UN monitors confirmed cases of exile of the non-Serb
populace from Teslic in the Serb entity.
International Police sources said that groups of criminals
were responsible for the terror in the area with their actions of
inducing mass exile of the non-Serb populace.
