ZAGREB, June 9 (Hina) - The Split police on Saturday apprehended Zlatko Aleksovski for whom the International War Crimes Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) had issued an arrest warrant, a statement from the Croatian Justice
ministry said on Sunday.

"On the request of the International Crimes Tribunal and the
issued arrest warrant, the investigative judge with the County
Court in Split issued a warrant for the arrest of Zlatko
Aleksovski, after he had received information that the suspect was
located in the area of jurisdiction of this Court," the statement
said.
After being apprehended, Aleksovski was taken to the
investigation centre of the County Court in Split and was taken
into custody.
Further procedure against Aleksovski is to be taken in line
with the Law on Criminal Procedure and the Constitutional Law on
Croatia's cooperation with the International Crimes Tribunal, the
statement said.
Aleksovski was born on January 8 1960 in Pakrac.
The ICTY issued an indictment against him, along with five
other Bosnian Croats, among which are Dario Kordic and General
Tihomir Blaskic, for crimes against Moslem civilians in the
Lasvanska valley during conflicts between Croats and Moslems.
