THE HAGUE, June 7 (Hina) - Trial Chamber I of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), presided over by Judge Claude Jorda, is to hold a public hearing in the case of Bosnian Serb political and military
leader Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic on 27 June 1996 at 10 a.m.
THE HAGUE, June 7 (Hina) - Trial Chamber I of the International
Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), presided over
by Judge Claude Jorda, is to hold a public hearing in the case of
Bosnian Serb political and military leader Radovan Karadzic and
Ratko Mladic on 27 June 1996 at 10 a.m. #L#
The public hearings are expected to last until 5 July 1996 and
will be conducted according to Rule 61 of the Tribunal's Statute.
Rule 61 addresses the case where a warrant of arrest has not
been executed and the indictment has not been served on the
accused.
During public hearing the prosecutor will submit evidence on
which the indictment was founded and may also call witnesses to
testify.
If the Judges conclude that there are reasonable grounds for
believing that the accused has committed the crimes, an
international warrant of arrest is issued.
