while travelling along the Boulevard road, which runs through the

Two groups of criminals entered an armed conflict Monday night
in the central street in eastern Mostar, Azevedo said. Several
gunshots were fired, wounding a passer-by. Eastern Mostar police
were still investigating the case, Azevedo said.
He also recalled an incident which happened on 31 May in the
afternoon, when some 30 eastern Mostar residents gathered on the
Boulevard road and staged a protest, which stopped traffic for some
two hours. The reason for the protest was the arrest of two eastern
Mostar residents by the western Mostar police that morning. Several
hours after the arrest, the two prisoners were released, Azevedo
said.
He added he hoped that the incidents would not hamper the
elections which are scheduled for June 30 this year.
