MINI $ STRIES, CRO ARMY ZAGREB, May 28 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Tuesday received high officials of the Croatian Defense Ministry, Croatian army and Croatian Interior Ministry, on occasion of the Croatian Armed Forces Day, a statement from the President's Office said. #L# Thanking Tudjman for the reception, Defense Minister Gojko Susak and Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak expressed readiness on behalf of the ministries, to continue to perform their tasks of defending and providing security for the Croatian homeland and its citizens. Wishing all best for Croatian Armed Forces Day, Tudjman told members of the Defense and Interior Ministries, and Croatian army officers that this day was celebrated for the first time in peace- time conditions this year. In the last several years, Croatia had formed an armed force, made up of the strength of the Croatian people, which had established independence and ensured the existence of the Croatian people and state, Tudjman said. "I was more than satisfied and proud of our people thanks to whom we have obtained all this, and which had to be noticed and recognized by the whole world," Tudjman said. "We have now entered a period when we can reduce our armed force, but also protect its efficiency because we live in unstable conditions," Tudjman said. "We will continue to face difficulties when unacceptable conditions will be pushed on Croatia, and to be sure that we have a ready armed force which will be the guarantee of Croatian independence," Tudjman said.
