Thanking Tudjman for the reception, Defense Minister Gojko
Susak and Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak expressed readiness on
behalf of the ministries, to continue to perform their tasks of
defending and providing security for the Croatian homeland and its

Wishing all best for Croatian Armed Forces Day, Tudjman told
members of the Defense and Interior Ministries, and Croatian army

In the last several years, Croatia had formed an armed force,
made up of the strength of the Croatian people, which had
established independence and ensured the existence of the Croatian

"I was more than satisfied and proud of our people thanks to
whom we have obtained all this, and which had to be noticed and
recognized by the whole world," Tudjman said.
"We have now entered a period when we can reduce our armed
force, but also protect its efficiency because we live in unstable
conditions," Tudjman said.
"We will continue to face difficulties when unacceptable
conditions will be pushed on Croatia, and to be sure that we have a
ready armed force which will be the guarantee of Croatian
independence," Tudjman said.
