ZAGREB, May 7 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today received Janko Bobetko, the retired Croatian army Chief-Of-Staff and head of the Parliament Committee for War Veterans, a statement from the President's Office
said.

President Tudjman and General Bobetko met on the occasion of
the anniversary of the liberation of western Slavonia. Last
summer's combined military and police action, which liberated the
region of western Slavonia, had been prepared by General Bobetko
who was then the head of the Croatian army Main Headquarters and
who had been preparing the plan following orders by the President
of Croatia and Croatian army Chief Commander, Franjo Tudjman, since
autumn 1994.
President Tudjman and General Bobetko discussed problems of
demobilized Croatian army members and the need for their better
integration into peace-time life, the statement said.
