an invitation to travel to Ankara in the second half of June for an
official visit, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic informed the

By his visit to Demirel, Granic concluded the official part of
his visit to Ankara. The talks focused on the political and safety
situation in central and eastern Europe.
"The talks mostly focused on the peace process in our region,"
Granic said.
He also said that Demirel had been especially interested in
the preparations for the elections in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Demirel expressed his respect for Croatia for its constructive
role in the peace process, especially in the establishment of the
Bosnian Federation.
Granic also met with the Turkish Foreign Minister Emre
Gonensay on Monday.
The meeting focused on promoting overall relations between the
two countries.
After the talks Granic said that the two ministers had
discussed details concerning Tudjman's visit to Turkey.
"A very important agreement on military cooperation between
the two countries is to be signed during his visit, as well as
agreements on cultural and scientific cooperation," Granic said.
Granic and Gonensay supported a speedy consonance of opinions
on suggestions of bilateral agreements on mutual investment
incentives, as well as on avoiding double taxation.
The talks also discussed possibilities of cooperation between
Turkey and Croatia in the fields of sea and air traffic between the
two countries.
Turkey fully supports the Croatian concept of establishing new
relations among countries in our region.
As a NATO rapporteur country for Croatia, Turkey supports the
suggestion that Croatia be included in the Partnership for Peace"
program.
