According to the statement, 'the Implementation Force did not
allow Muslim civilians to cross the check-point because of security
reasons, since a group of Serb civilians armed with heavy sticks
and clubs was waiting on the other side of the check-point'.
'Despite warnings, several Muslim civilians entered a
minefield which surrounds the check-point. Firing and four
detonations could be heard after that. It was established later
that one person was killed and seven others were wounded. IFOR
soldiers were not present at the site nor did they open fire', the
statement said.
