IFOR CALLS ON BOSNIA'S CIVILIAN AUTHORITIES TO MEET DAYTON COMMITM

COMMITM $ ENTS SARAJEVO, April 24 (Hina) - The NATO-led peace Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia called on civilian authorities Wednesday to create conditions on the ground for the return of refugees and to ensure full freedom of movement, in line with the Dayton peace agreement. IFOR spokesman Simon Haselock told a press conference in Sarajevo that there was a danger of renewed disturbances such as those that had happened at Bosanska Otoka and Doboj when large groups of refugees tried to visit their homes which were now on the territory of the Bosnian Serb entity. Haselock warned that clashes that had happened there were the result of an orchestrated campaign. He resolutely dismissed a possibility of NATO troops performing police work such as defusing mass protests. IFOR officials were trying to organize talks on local government level to prevent fresh incidents from erupting. (hina) vm jn 241611 MET apr 96
