The Muslim refugees, escorted by the international police
force and the local police, yesterday set out from Tesanj, where
they are currently accommodated, for Doboj, on the occasion of the
great Muslim holiday Bayram. However, on the separation line
between the Serb entity and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina,
near a check-point of the Polish-Nordic IFOR brigade, they were
stopped by a group of some 200 Serbs, armed with various types of
light weapons. The Serbs made the visit of the Muslim refugees
conditional on the release of all Serb prisoners of war.
After a meeting between the Muslim and Serb representatives,
which was secured by the Polish IFOR soldiers, the Muslim refugees
continued their journey to Doboj at around 3 pm.
