relations with foreign countries, Hans Schill.

The economic ministry delegation and a large number of
business people on Monday arrived in Zagreb for a two-day visit.
The Croatian Minister for Economic Affairs, Davor Stern, received
the delegation on Monday.
The German government representative expressed his interest in
the economic situation in Croatia.
Croatia was the key country in the region, Schill said, adding
that highest German officials were observing Croatia's political
and economic development and could sometimes be critical towards
certain occurrences in Croatia.
Germany, which is Croatia's first partner, advocates the
beginning of talks within the European Union about signing an
agreement on trade and cooperation between the EU and Croatia, as
well as including Croatia in the PHARE programme.
Schill described the Croatian politics of a stable currency
and macroeconomics in general as positive, as he did the
announcement of establishing a legislative framework which would
ensure security of foreign investments in Croatia.
