'There are many things that link us an it is our duty to solve
problems and not deepen them', president of the Bundestag Committee
for foreign policy Karl-Heinz Hornheus told reporters after meeting
the head of the Croatian Parliament Committee for foreign policy,
Zdravka Busic.
Mrs Busic had explained the situation in Mostar and apologized
for the incident which happened when Mr Koschnik's car had been
fired on, Horheus said.
The German delegation was interested in the current situation
in Croatia and its relations with Bosnia-Herzegovina. The German
parliamentarians also wanted more information on the establishment
of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
They were also interested in a law on extradition of war
crimes suspects to The Hague Court. The German delegates also
wanted to know whether conditions for the return of Serb refugees
who fled Croatia after 'Flash' and 'Storm' military actions, have
been created.
Horheus thanked the Croatian government for the hospitality
Croatia offered to the German IFOR soldiers located in Trogir.
During their visit to Croatia, the German parliamentarians
will also visit the German IFOR base in Trogir.
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and Foreign Minister Mate
Granic are to receive the German Bundestag delegation tonight.
