Biscevic informed the German delegation about current
political processes in the region, stressing that good relations
with neighbouring countries had great importance for Croatia.
Biscevic said he was convinced that Croatia could play an
important role and have considerable influence on the stability and
security in this part of Europe. Croatia expected assistance and
support of European institutions and security mechanisms in that
process, he added.
The establishment and strengthening of the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina in line with the Washington and Dayton
agreements was of great importance for Croatia, Biscevic said,
informing the German delegation about results of the latest meeting
in Split between the government delegations of Croatia, Bosnia-
Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The talks also tackled the peaceful reintegration of the
remaining Croatian occupied areas into Croatia's legal and
constitutional system. The normalisation of relations with the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on the basis of equality and respect
for sovereignty played an important part in that process, Biscevic
said.
Croatia appreciated the help and friendship Germany had
offered to it in times which had been crucial for the young state,
Biscevic said, adding he hoped that relations between the two
countries would be further widened and strengthened.
