Croatian representatives said that some Croatian refugees
who had retured from Germany since June 1994 still could not
return to their homes because conditions for the return of all
refugees would depend on the reintegration of the Croatian
Danubian region and on the reconstruction and development of the
already liberated areas.
It was stressed that Croatia and Germany had taken on the
biggest part of the burden of providing for refugees.
Croatia is currently providing for some 160,000 Bosnian
refugees and Germany for more than 300,000.
The delegations recommended that the competent authorities
of Croatia and Germany closely cooperate in the process of
repatriation of Bosnian refugees, in line with the Dayton peace
accord which envisages consultations with the UNHCR.
