ZAGREB CITY ASSEMBLY VOTES NO CONFIDENCE IN MAYOR MATULOVIC- DROPUL

DROPUL $ IC, ELECTS IVO SKRABALO NEW MAYOR ZAGREB, March 7 (Hina) - At a session held today, members of the Zagreb City Assembly voted no confidence in Zagreb Mayor and Zagreb County Prefect Marina Matulovic-Dropulic by a majority vote. Matulovic-Dropulic was appointed to the post by President Tudjman on 2 March. Twenty-eight councilors voted against, while the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) councilors did not vote. At the proposal of the alliance of seven Opposition parties , Ivo Skrabalo, one of vice presidents of the Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS), was elected new Zagreb Mayor and Zagreb County Prefect.
