OSIJEK, Feb 16 (Hina) - Croatian Army representatives and
representatives from the Serb side today held talks at an UNTAES
checkpoint between Nemetin and Sarvas. The Croatian delegation
was headed by Croatian Army commander in Osijek, General Djuro
Decak, and the Serb side was led by General Dusan Loncar, a
statement from the Croatian Army command in Osijek said. #L#
The talks focused on the situation on the Biljska road and
mineclearing of an area near Lipovac, the statement said, adding
that UNTAES troops had begun taking over checkpoints in Nustar
which were deserted by UNCRO forces last August, the statement
said.
Administrator Jacques Klein said that UNTAES forces would
have "IFOR'S full support" in fulfilling their tasks, adding that
the remaining military contingent of UNTAES was expected to
arrive soon," said the statement.
Klein asked the Serb side to submit a list of police
officers they wanted to station in the Danube area, which Croatia
has already done.
