The Herzeg-Bosnian prisoner exchange commission head, Berislav
Pusic, said the Serb war prisoners had been driven in the three
busses of the Bosnian Croat forces (HVO), and the convoy was being
accompanied by International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and
Implementation Force (IFOR) officials.
Pusic announced that Serbs should release 35 Croats today,
after the President of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Kresimir Zubak, and a Bosnian Serb leader, Momcilo Krajisnik, had
agreed on this issue yesterday at Pale.
By setting free 127 Serbs from the Rodoc prison today, the
Croatian side observed an agreement it had signed with Serbs on
January 8, 1996, Pusic added.
Asked by reporters whether Croats were still detaining some
Serbs, he replied that some (Serb war prisoners) had remained at
prison since "legal action has been taken against them because of
war crimes, but they can be also swapped."
