SARAJEVO, Jan 8 (Hina) - The Bosnian government and Serb forces
could soon exchange about a thousand prisoners of war, the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Monday.
ICRC spokesman Pierre Gauthier told a press conference in
Sarajevo that his organization had recently received lists with
names of about 1,000 POWs.
He added that in the next two days ICRC officials would
contact these people to see whether they wanted to be exchanged and
where they would want to go.
Later today ICRC would present all the parties to the conflict
with its plan for the release of POWs.
Meanwhile, Bosnian Serbs admitted to IFOR officials that they
were holding two men they had arrested outside Sarajevo. Their
release would be negotiated by civilian authorities.
