SARAJEVO, Jan 17 (Hina) - An international agency for migrations,
which had assisted in resettling Bosnian refugees during the war,
now was about to assist in bringing some of them back, an official
said on Wednesday. #L#
Andreas Halbach, head of the International Organization for
Migrations (OIM) mission in Sarajevo, told Hina on Wednesday that
OIM had prepared a project for return of the refugees, particularly
educated ones needed in the reconstruction.
The OIM would soon establish a joint commission with the
Bosnian government and with governments who were willing to finance
the project, he said, assessing its overall value to "between USD 5
and 10 million". #L#
The agency had enabled some 70-80 thousand refugees from
former Yugoslavia to leave the area. It had also organized medical
evacuations for 1,500 wounded and sick persons from Bosnia-
Herzegovina and for 320 persons from Croatia.
Though the fighting in Bosnia had ceased, there were still 40
persons waiting for medical evacuations as they could not be
treated in local hospitals.
