MOSTAR, Jan 5 (Hina) - Around 2,000 U.N. civilian policemen would
be deployed in Bosnia-Herzegovina by the next summer, a spokesman
for the United Nations in Mostar said.

The policemen would not be armed as their task was to be
training and surveillance of the local police force. They would
also keep contacts with local political structures and inform on
humanitarian and political situation in the country.
The command posts of the U.N. Civilian Police Force would be
established in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Tuzla, with around 100
precincts throughout Bosnia-Herzegovina, Svensson said.
