CRO INTERIOR MINISTRY, UNHCR ORGANIZE SEMINAR ON REFUGEES

ZAGREB, Sept 25 (Hina) - A two-day joint seminar on determining refugee status organized by the Croatian Interior Ministry and the UN high commission for refugees ended on Thursday, the Interior Ministry's public relations office said in a statement. The seminar discussed problems arising in the definition of a refugee and in the procedure of recognizing refugees on the part of competent bodies of Croatia and UNHCR, the statement added. The seminar, combined with Croatia's impending ratification of a European convention on human rights, will pave the way for the adjustment of domestic regulations in determining refugee status, the statement concluded.
