OKUCANI/PAKRAC/DARUVAR, Aug 27 (Hina) - Eight Serb families
returned without incident to Okucani, Pakrac and Daruvar on
Wednesday under the escort of UNHCR and OSCE personnel and
Croatian police.
They returned to the Western Slavonia region as part of the
so far largest organised convoy of refugees from the UN-
administered Danube river region of eastern Croatia to their pre-
war places of residence in other parts of the country.
They were received by representatives of the Regional
Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees and the police, after
which they were taken to their relatives and friends.
According to information from regional offices in Slavonski
Brod, Pozega and Bjelovar, 21 Serb refugees, including the ones
who returned today, have returned in an organised way to the
Okucani area since April 23 while about 110 have returned under
their own arrangements.
Forty-eight persons have returned to the Pakrac area in an
organised way and 136 on their own. As part of organised returns,
32 persons have returned to Daruvar, four to Bjelovar, four to
Grubisno Polje and one to Garesnica.
