These are the results which arrived by 5 p.m. Wednesday from 7,557
out of a total of 7,558 polling places. The turnout at the 7,557 polling
stations was 2.218,288 out of 4.070,032 registered voters, the Election
Commission President Ivan Mrkonjic told a press conference on Wednesday.
According to the results processed so far, the turnout in Croatia
is 57.68% and abroad 23.49%, Mrkonjic said. Speaking about the turnout,
Mrkonjic said that every turnout which is above 50% is considered a good
turnout in developed and democratic countries.
He reiterated that Bosnian and German authorities did not allow
voting outside of diplomatic and consular buildings.
Only one polling station, the one in Trakoscanska street, has not
sent its results. The voting at this polling station will be repeated on
22 June due to two extra ballots which were found in the polling box.
"It is unbelievable that the voting is repeated because of two
ballots, but it is in line with the law," Mrkonjic said.
Asked about the data on the overall turnout, Mrkonjic said that
such data was 'methodologically not followed'.
Mrkonjic said that information on the results of elections in
municipalities, towns and counties would be announced on Friday.
