SARAJEVO, Aug 28 (Hina) - The Electoral Appeals Subcommittee (EAS)
acting as part of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe mission in Bosnia on August 25 reached a decision on the
removal of two candidates from electoral lists of the Coalition for
Integral and Democratic Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The removal was the result of violation of electoral rules and
regulations by authorities in Una-Sava Canton.
The EAS decision stated the two removed candidates were Selim
Toromanovic, the Coalition's candidate for the House of
Representatives of the Bosnian parliament, and Hamdija Abdic,
candidate for the cantonal assembly.
The decision was reached on the basis of six different complaints
filed by the Democratic People's Union (DNZ) which referred to
local police composition, the employment of teachers, the
establishment of temporary municipal bodies of authority, the
eviction of the DNZ from party premises in Velika Kladusa, media
access, and to the discrimination of DNZ supporters in public
enterprise.
