SARAJEVO, Aug 21 (Hina) - All candidates for Bosnia-Herzegovina's
three-member Presidency and for the position of president and vice-
president of the country's Serb entity in the forthcoming elections
are to take part in talk shows televised across BH.
The Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
mission to BH on Friday said it would organise the programmes and
have them transmitted simultaneously by the country's three major
broadcasters - Radio Television Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Open
Broadcasting Network and Serb Radio Television.
OSCE mission spokeswoman Nicole Szulc said that the live talk shows
featuring the candidates were planned for the period between
September 3 and 9.
Most of the candidates have agreed to take part in the programmes,
including even Momcilo Krajisnik, the current Serb member of the
Presidency, but the incumbent Presidency chairman Alija
Izetbegovic has not yet given his final response to an invitation.
Since the pre-election campaign officially started on July 27, the
three broadcasters have daily emitted talk shows in which political
party representatives and independent candidates present their
programmes and political aims.
Under media regulations for the pre-election campaign drawn up by
the OSCE's Provisional Election Commission, all media operators
are obliged to provide equal and balanced coverage to all political
parties.
