PRISTINA DAILY: KOSOVO LIBERATION ARMY - CRUCIAL FACTOR OF BALANCE

( Editorial: --> 0945 ) PRISTINA, June 13 (Hina) - The Kosovo Liberation Army (OVK, in Albanian UCK) has been recognised as a power and a critical factor for Kosovo's future not only by Albanians but by all international factors, said a commentary in Saturday's issue of the Pristina- based daily in Albanian "Bujku". The OVK's influence is no longer disputable, the commentary further claims. "Bujku" also says that the OVK today controls more than 40 per cent of Kosovo, and aspires to liberation of the whole of Kosovo. The OVK, which currently has 30,000 soldiers, can activate another 300,000 armed soldiers if necessary and it already has a high degree of morale and professionalism, the daily claims. There is no doubt that the way it has started the OVK can only be more organised and become the most vital army in the Balkans, "Bujku" says adding the OVK and the Albanian army could become the crucial factor of balance and stability in the region.
