SARAJEVO, June 11 (Hina) - Sixty-seven political parties and eight
independent candidates will participate in general elections in
Bosnia-Herzegovina which are to take place on September 12 and 13.
Spokesman for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe (OSCE) in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Dardan Gashi, said in
Sarajevo Thursday that 71 parties had registered to participate in
the elections, but after their applications had been checked, four
of them had been found not to satisfy one or more set conditions.
Political parties made up of a part of members from another already
registered party have the option to register for the elections by
July 1. However, they also must go through the procedure envisaged
for registration, and the final decision on the acceptability of
their applications will be made by the Temporary Electoral
Committee.
Parties which intend to participate as part of party alliances,
must apply by June 27.
