ZAGREB, June 9 (Hina) - The exact date of Dinko Sakic's extradition
and transfer to Zagreb cannot be foreseen for the time being as
German authorities have as yet failed to reach a decision on his
transfer across Germany, sources from the Croatian Ministry of
Justice told Hina Tuesday.
The Ministry of Interior Affairs today refuted claims that German
authorities had already okayed Sakic's transfer as reported by the
Tuesday issue of Split daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
Dinko Sakic was the commander of a World War Two concentration camp
in Jasenovac.
All statements made in a Slobodna Dalmacija article headlined
"Germans Grant Sakic Transfer" are untrue and the result of
arbitrary writing, the public relations office of the Interior
Ministry said in a statement.
"Not one information concerning the Dinko Sakic case has recently
been reported from the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of
Interior Affairs, which is the only one authorised to inform the
public about the (Interior Ministry's) work, including the work of
the Interpol office in Zagreb", the statement said.
At least a few days will pass before Sakic is transferred to Zagreb
following the German authorities' decision on the transfer, said
the sources in the Justice Ministry.
They recalled Sakic's extradition should be executed within 30
days, according to a decision of Argentinean authorities.
Argentina's President on May 15 signed an order for Sakic's
extradition to Croatia.
