ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Monday received the United States Ambassador William Montgomery
who handed over documents from the US Justice Department which
could be of possible significance to the trail of former Jasenovac
concentration camp commander Dinko Sakic.
The documents were offered to the Croatian Government by the US
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Granic thanked Montgomery for the delivered documents and once
again expressed the decisiveness of the Croatian Government for the
Dinko Sakic trial to be open to the domestic and international
public, objective and on the highest professional level, said a
Foreign Ministry statement.
Montgomery praised the adopted Binding Instructions for the return
of Croatian Serbs and emphasised the importance of its timely
composition and the consequent implementation of the return plan.
Minister Granic said the Croatian Government is determined to do
that.
The talks touched on bilateral relations and they were described as
being on the rise. They also discussed further steps in the
procedure for Croatia joining the Partnership for Peace programme,
said the statement.
