SARAJEVO/BANJA LUKA, May 13 (Hina) - The Republika Srpska's
Interior Ministry on Wednesday confirmed that Gojko Klickovic,
former Premier of the Bosnian Serb Government, has been charged for
misappropriation of an official post and embezzlement of 41 million
Yugoslav dinars (just under DM7 million).
As broadcasted by the Bosnian Serb Radio-Television, an Interior
Ministry statement signed by Minister Milovan Stankovic, said that
Klickovic without authorisation signed documents on the writing
off of debts of the tobacco factory in Banja Luka as well for the
opening of a duty free shop by a certain company in Zvornik, which
directly cut into the Republika Srpska budget.
Gojko Klickovic is inaccessible to the Republika Srpska police and
it is assumed that he is in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and
that is why the search for him has been abandoned, said the
statement.
Klickovic and his government, exclusively staffed by those close to
the hard-line leadership of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) in
Pale, were replaced following extraordinary parliamentary
elections last year when SDS lost majority and Milorad Dodik was
appointed as Premier.
